A CALL FOR COMMUNITY SUPPORT

We need your help this February and March. We are asking businesses, schools, and churches to hold drives at their perspective places to benefit the children of SWAGG Programs. We need all size diapers and pull-ups. (We are in dire need of size 6 diapers, baby wipes, body lotion, and black hair products.) Individuals are also encouraged to participate.

FEBRUARY IS COMMUNITY DIAPER DRIVE MONTH

MARCH IS COMMUNITY HYGIENE DRIVE MONTH

SWAGG IS MAKING A
DIFFERENCE IN OUR COMMUNITY!

We have served over 3340 children and served over 920 volunteer hours.
We provide SWAGGtastic experiences for foster and homeless children. We are committed to providing programs that stimulate the minds of our SWAGGers and give them the courage to explore their own interests, skills, and talents. Through innovative thinking, they are able to transform their current situations into opportunities to be successful.

“Initial Placement” Program
(512+ children served since July 2016)

Provides children with diapers/ pull-ups while in transition, at the CPS Office or Child Placing Agency, before they report to their new placement.

"SWAGG Store” Program
(3500+ children served since January 2016)
Provides foster and homeless children with monthly “swaggtastic” shopping experiences. These children have received needed hygiene items, underwear, socks, clothes, shoes, diapers/ pull-ups, baby wipes, backpacks, duffle bags, suitcases, school uniforms, school supplies, furniture items, and much more.

 SWAGG Bags” Program
(1510+ children served since February 2016)

Gives children the means to transition to their new environment with a durable bag of needed items. SWAGG offers them an opportunity to fill this bag with hygiene items, underwear, socks, and a keepsake to remind them of the Serenity, Wisdom, Agility, Grace, and Guidance that is available to them.

“Prom Prep Day” Program
(90+ children served since April 2015)

Offers juniors and seniors an opportunity to get prepared for their upcoming school prom. They are able to receive attire, footwear, and additional accessories to wear the night of the prom. They engage in classes that are geared toward having a successful prom experience. We ensure they are ready to enjoy their prom with dignity and SWAGG.

“The Man to Be” SWAGGers Program: Game Night
(20 boys served April 2016)

Entices our male SWAGGers to reach beyond their comfort zone. Confidence is instilled in them that gives them the strength needed to challenge themselves. They are motivated to envision a whole new world of possibilities and are equipped with strategies to seek different avenues to achieve their goals. They are able to celebrate their uniqueness, knowledge, and intellect with SWAGG.

“The Beauty in Me” SWAGGers Program: Tea Party
(80+ girls served since May 2015)

Allows our girls to come together to explore the beauty that is inside of them. Together, the girls identify characteristics about themselves and others that allow them to feel confident and boost their self-esteem. They are encouraged to seek change, excellence, hope, faith and love in a way that promotes a concrete foundation of Serenity, Wisdom, Agility, Grace, and Guidance.

Art Expressions and Recreation Program
(75+ children served since June 2015)

Exposes our SWAGGers to different cultures, museums, and recreations. These experiences allow them to freely discover their feelings in a creative manner that builds self-esteem and self-value. They enhance self-awareness, social interaction and assist them in expressing themselves in a productive manner. While learning in a safe environment, SWAGGers are able to expand their horizons in an enjoyable, constructive manner with SWAGG.

“Orphan Awareness” Program
(470+ children served since November 2015)

Exists to bring light and awareness to our surrounding community that there is an increasing number of children in need of a “home”. One that provides consistency, comfort, guidance, morals, nourishment, and love. Our communities need homes that offer SWAGG.

“Parent SWAGG” Program
(30+ parents served since November 2015)

Offers parents an opportunity to meet their foster parent requirements through fun, informative, and interactive workshops. They leave equipped with strategies to personally strengthen them and their homes. In addition, we offer Love and Logic classes that meet the court appointed requirement. Credit hours are provided for all courses. Our program offers parents a platform of SWAGG.

“Holiday Support” Program
(1220+ children served since November 2015)

Gives additional support during the Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons. They receive Care Packages and their Christmas Wishes are placed on our Community Angel Trees. SWAGG holds an Annual Christmas Social inviting recipients to pick up gifts and the children enjoy activities and refreshments. This program reinforces our parents’ SWAGG.
